The Kapooka Golf Club (KGC) will swing in to 2019 with a four per side tournament at the K-Series. Golf club president and RDW Sergeant Major WO1 Peter Coles said the K4s tournament has already proved its worth in recent years to expand and broaden the appeal of the K-Series.

“In recent years the KGC has seen a very significant increase in membership and also a very significant increase in female members, so we are creating a much larger audience for the K-Series and making a big contribution to the overall success of the event,” WO1 Coles said.

“This particular competition will promote teamwork, competitive spirit and maintenance of physical fitness, as well as demonstrating that sport provides an important interaction between ADF units and the civilian community.

WO11 Coles shows how its done.

“The course is available free of charge for teams who wish to play a practice round on the day prior to the competition.

“The event is open to all ADF Regular, Reserve and Retired personnel. Kapooka Golf Club as the host club is the only Golf Club that may enter non-defence personnel. Teams are to consist of 4 people (no reserves) and can be all male, all female or mixed,” WO1 Coles said

The K Series presentations will be conducted at the Kapooka Sports Club at the completion of the final rounds of golf. The Kapooka Golf Club sponsored events will have there presentations at the clubhouse prior to the official K-Series presentations.

The KGC is not just for members, we are also responsible to maintain the newly designated Sportsman’s Club which is located at the Rugby grounds, if units within the KMA wish to have a golf day, family day or just a BBQ then the club can assist.
